3. About Relish Chefs and Our Role
Relish Chefs is an online marketplace designed to connect clients with independent private chefs, caterers and food professionals.
Mountain Relish acts as a booking intermediary between clients and Chefs.
Our role includes:
- providing an online platform where clients can discover and contact Chefs;
- reviewing and onboarding Chef Partners;
- facilitating communication between clients and Chefs;
- assisting with the booking process;
- processing or facilitating booking deposits where applicable; and
- providing promotional and intermediary services.
Mountain Relish does not itself provide private chef, catering or food preparation services.
The contract for the provision of Services is entered into between the Client and the individual Chef unless expressly stated otherwise.
The Chef remains solely responsible for fulfilling the Services agreed with the Client.
4. Chef Partner Terms
These Terms apply to any Chef or food professional who uses Relish Chefs to promote their services.
By registering, submitting information or accepting bookings through Relish Chefs, the Chef agrees that they:
- have provided accurate and truthful information;
- will maintain accurate and up-to-date listings;
- will provide Services professionally and in accordance with applicable laws;
- will honour accepted bookings;
- will communicate clearly with Clients;
- will comply with all applicable food safety, hygiene and business regulations.
Chefs remain independent businesses and are not employees, agents or representatives of Mountain Relish.
Nothing in these Terms creates an employment relationship, partnership or joint venture between Mountain Relish and any Chef Partner.
5. Listings and Verification Process
Mountain Relish has a process in place to research, review and assess Chef listings before they are published on the Website.
This process may include reviewing information supplied by Chefs, including:
- professional experience;
- menus;
- photographs;
- service descriptions;
- location details;
- qualifications or relevant information provided by the Chef.
However, Mountain Relish relies on information supplied by each Chef Partner.
While we take reasonable steps to review listings, we cannot guarantee that all information is accurate, complete, current or free from errors.
Chefs are solely responsible for ensuring that all information provided is truthful, accurate and not misleading.
Mountain Relish cannot be held responsible for:
- inaccurate information supplied by a Chef;
- omissions or errors in listings;
- changes to availability, pricing or services;
- statements made by individual Chefs;
- the quality or suitability of Services provided.
The inclusion of a Chef on Relish Chefs does not constitute a guarantee, certification or endorsement that the Chef will meet a Client’s expectations.
6. Booking Process
Clients may use Relish Chefs to identify and communicate with suitable Chefs.
The booking process may include:
- Client enquiry or booking request;
- Chef review and acceptance of the request;
- Agreement of menus, requirements, dates and pricing;
- Payment of any required booking deposit;
- Confirmation of the booking.
Mountain Relish may facilitate communication between Clients and Chefs but does not determine the terms of the Service agreement unless specifically stated.
Clients and Chefs are responsible for ensuring that all booking details are correct before confirmation.
7. Service Contracts Between Clients and Chefs
Any agreement relating to the provision of chef or catering Services is between the Client and the Chef.
Mountain Relish is not responsible for the actual delivery of Services.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- menu preparation;
- food quality;
- food safety;
- dietary requirements;
- allergies;
- timings;
- Chef availability;
- cancellations;
- performance of the Service.
Clients should communicate all relevant requirements directly with the Chef before confirming a booking.
8. Booking Deposits and Commission
Relish Chefs may facilitate the collection and processing of booking deposits as part of its role as a booking intermediary.
Depending on the booking system and payment process in operation, deposits may be handled in one of the following ways:
- the Client pays the deposit through Mountain Relish, which then allocates the relevant amounts between the Chef and Mountain Relish; or
- the Chef receives the deposit directly from the Client and Mountain Relish invoices the Chef separately for its commission.
The payment method used will be confirmed during the booking process.
Unless otherwise stated, a booking deposit may be required to confirm a reservation.
Mountain Relish retains commission for providing intermediary, promotional and booking facilitation services.
Where the current commission structure applies:
- 12.5% of the booking deposit is retained by Mountain Relish as commission.
- 12.5% of the booking deposit is allocated to the Chef as an advance payment.
Any remaining balance payable for the Services is paid according to the agreement between the Client and the Chef.
9. Payments
Payments relating to the Chef’s Services may be made through Mountain Relish or directly between the Client and the Chef depending on the booking method used.
Mountain Relish recommends the use of secure and traceable payment methods.
Clients should exercise appropriate care when making payments and should avoid untraceable payment methods.
Mountain Relish accepts no responsibility for payment disputes, failed transactions or financial arrangements made directly between Clients and Chefs.
10. Chef Responsibilities
Chef Partners using Relish Chefs are responsible for ensuring that they provide accurate information about their business, experience, availability and Services.

Clients must provide accurate information regarding allergies, intolerances, dietary restrictions and any other relevant requirements before confirming a booking.
While Mountain Relish facilitates connections between Clients and Chefs, we do not prepare, handle or supply food and cannot accept responsibility for any illness, allergic reaction, injury or loss arising from Services provided by an independent Chef Partner.
12. Insurance and Professional Requirements
Chef Partners are responsible for obtaining and maintaining any insurance, licences, registrations or permissions required to operate their business.
Depending on the nature of their Services, this may include:
- public liability insurance;
- professional indemnity insurance;
- food business registration;
- relevant professional qualifications;
- local authority permissions.
Mountain Relish may request evidence of relevant credentials or insurance where appropriate; however, we do not guarantee or continuously verify that a Chef Partner maintains such cover.
Each Chef remains solely responsible for ensuring that they are legally permitted and suitably insured to provide their Services.
13. Cancellation Policy
Booking deposits paid through Relish Chefs are generally non-refundable unless otherwise stated during the booking process or where Mountain Relish is unable to provide the agreed intermediary service.
Any cancellation terms relating to the Chef’s Services, including cancellation by either the Client or Chef, must be agreed between the Client and the Chef before the booking is confirmed.
Where a Chef cancels or is unable to fulfil an accepted booking, the Client should seek resolution directly with the Chef.
Mountain Relish may assist with communication between the parties but is not responsible for cancellation disputes, compensation claims or replacement arrangements.
